Mogadishu, Somalia – The Federal Ministry of Family Affairs and Human Rights of Somalia participated in the 7th Conference on the Women, Peace, Security, and Protection (WPP) Program. The forum celebrated the collective progress in empowering women and promoting peace, with support from the Federal Government, civil society organizations, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the UN Women’s Office.
Speaking at the conference, State Minister for Family Affairs and Human Rights, Hon. Mohamed Osman Nastaro, emphasized the importance of joint efforts between the government and development partners to ensure the success of the Women, Peace, and Security program. He called for the acceleration and expansion of the initiative to strengthen collaborative efforts in advancing gender inclusion and security.
“Together, we will continue building on our achievements to safeguard peace, security, and the protection of Somali women and children,” stated Minister Nastaro.
The Ministry remains committed to realizing key national priorities that advance the rights and well-being of Somali women and society as a whole.
