Mogadishu, Somalia – The Minister of Family Affairs and Human Rights of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS), Amb. Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, along with the Canadian Ambassador to Somalia and Kenya, Amb. Christopher Thornley, co-chaired a high-level meeting between the Ministry and international donors.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation, addressing the Ministry’s key priorities, and identifying the necessary support required from international partners. Ambassadors and representatives from the global donor community welcomed Minister Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi and pledged their full commitment to collaborating with the Ministry.
During her remarks, Minister Al-Makhzoumi shared the Ministry’s priority initiatives and expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and the commitment of international partners to supporting Somalia’s human rights and social welfare programs.
Additionally, the Minister chaired a technical meeting in Nairobi, which brought together representatives from federal member states to discuss the Ministry’s ongoing initiatives and strategic priorities. Minister Al-Makhzoumi emphasized the importance of structured collaboration with international organizations to ensure alignment with the Ministry’s key objectives.
The meetings were attended by the Director General of the Ministry, Mohamed Bashir Omar, along with senior experts and technical teams from the Ministry.
