The Minister of Family and Human Rights Development of the Federal Government of Somalia
(FGS), Her Excellency Ambassador Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, convened a meeting today with prominent Somali women leaders. The gathering, which included the Ministry’s Director General, Mr. Mohamed Bashir Omar, centered on preparations for Women’s Week and International Women’s Day, observed globally on March 8 each year.
During the discussions, Minister Khadija outlined the Ministry’s strategic plans for this year’s celebrations, emphasizing the goal of organizing a more expansive and impactful event compared to previous years. She stressed the importance of dedicating each day of Women’s Week to addressing the needs of various segments of society, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities.
