The Minister of Family and Human Rights Development, H.E. Amb. Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, held a productive meeting in Geneva with Eleanor Sanders to discuss strengthening cooperation between the Federal Government of Somalia and the United Kingdom Government on human rights and institutional development.
During the meeting, Minister Khadija expressed appreciation for the United Kingdom’s continued partnership and support, particularly its cooperation with the Ministry of Family and Human Rights Development in advancing Somalia’s human rights agenda.
The discussions also highlighted Somalia’s recent achievements in promoting and protecting human rights, including the establishment of the Independent National Human Rights Commission and the landmark agreement signed in Geneva with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong partnership between Somalia and the United Kingdom and their shared commitment to strengthening human rights institutions, accountability, and inclusive governance.
