Mogadishu, Somalia – The Acting Minister and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Family Affairs and Human Rights of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hon. Mohamed Osman Nastaro, officially received 300 wheelchairs from Qatar Charity today. The donation aims to support individuals with disabilities by addressing their mobility challenges.
The handover ceremony was attended by representatives from the National Disability Agency of Somalia, members of the Federal Parliament, officials from Qatar Charity, and other dignitaries. Speaking at the event, Minister Mohamed Osman Nastaro reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring that people with disabilities in Somalia receive the necessary support and essential equipment to improve their quality of life.
In addition, the Ministry recently presented a proposal to the Council of Ministers for the renewal of the mandate of the National Disability Agency’s Executive Committee. The proposal was officially approved during the weekly Cabinet meeting, marking another step towards strengthening support for people with disabilities in the country.
